1. Beaufort Historic Downtown

& Port Royal Tour (1/2 day Tour)

  • Beaufort is South Carolina's2nd oldest city, famous for its moss-draped live oaks and antebellum architecture The Point & Old Bluff: Take a horse-drawn carriage tour or a golf cart tour through the historic district to see filming sites for movies like Forrest Gump, The Prince of Tides, and The Great Santini.
  • Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park: Scenic spot for a walk along the Beaufort River with views of the Woods Memorial Bridge the one Forrest Gump ran across.
  • The Beaufort Arsenal: Built in 1798. it now houses the Beaufort History Museum. $8 Admission Fee.
  • Cypress Wetlands (Port Royal): A stunning boardwalk where you can spot snowy egrets, herons, and alligators in a lush swamp setting. Website Donations Are Accepted 


2. St. Helena Island (Gullah Culture & History Tour) (Full Day Tour with a Stop for Lunch)

This island is the heart of Gullah Geechee heritage in the region.

  • Penn Center: A National Historic Landmark that was one of the first schools for freed slaves. It's a vital site for understanding Reconstruction and African American history. $20 Guided Tour 
  • Chapel of Ease Ruins: The spooky and beautiful ruins of an 18th-centurv church built of tabby (a concrete-like mixture of oyster shells, lime)
  • Fort Fremont: A Spanish-American War-era fort with a preserve that offers history and scenic views of Port Royal Sound
  • Lunch Break Stop:  Ask anyone who’s a come ya or a bin ya in Beaufort (if you have to ask, you are probably a come ya) about one of their favorite things about living in paradise is fresh Seafood.  This stop will the highlight of your Lowcountry culinary experience. $Pay for your menu order.
  • Fripp Island: The island is a designated wildlife sanctuary. You will see deer roaming the streets and plenty of alligators in the lagoons 
  • Fripp Island Marina: Great for booking fishing charters or kayaking through the marshes
  • Hunting Island State Park: If we can't access Fripp's private beaches, this neighboring park is a must. It features the only publicly accessible lighthouse in SC and a "Boneyard Beach" filled with weathered, fallen trees.  Admission to State Park is included in the tour.
  • Barefoot Farms:  Visit the store of a  family farm growing fresh fruits and vegetables on St. Helena Island.
  • Red Piano Too Gallery: A great place to buy authentic Gullah folk art and local crafts


3. Parris Island (Marine Corps History) Tour (3 Hour Tour)

  • Parris Island Museum: Open to the public, this museum covers the history of the Marine Corps and the early French and Spanish settlements (Santa Elena)

  To access base, visitors 18+ years old must have a valid REAL ID-compliant License/ID.
Visitors under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Admission is Free.
